The Life of Abdrushin
By Randolph Freeman Eales
(continuation)
As I have mentioned the “White Knight” in the
beginning, I will say something more about him. He will deposit with a few
others of the most faithful servants of the Divine Trigon their earthly remains
in the Royal vault under the Castle of the Grail, when the day will come, and
will die at His Master’s coffin and rise in His ray to the precincts of the
Primordial Castle. Abdrushin reveals in the “Nachklänge” the significance of
the “White Knight” in Creation. I will give a short extract: “Among the chief
servants of the Holy Grail, those that are the furthest evolved, stands the
White Knight. Scales and a watchful eye embroidered are on his-cloak. They are
the symbols of the high office which he will carry out with the utmost rigour.
He will see to it that a primeval law designed to be a blessing to men is
strictly adhered to. This law was not only hitherto disregarded, but in their
blindness, men thought it un-Christian and ignoble. The law ordains that a
strict reciprocity has got to be kept in ‘giving and taking’. These must
eternally hold the balance. Where giving and taking strictly correspond, there
will be peace and harmony. This is the Divine Ordinance which controls and
furthers all Creation. Otherwise, discontent, sickness and death will result.
Cases of envy and hatred, theft and murder issued from not obeying the law and
will continue to pull mankind downwards, till all hope is extinguished, all
effort given up. A radical change must be sternly insisted upon. Divine will
demands it. He who is not prepared to give, shall not be allowed to receive.
Nothing shall be given to him, not even the Holy Word. That must also be
deserved and earned”.
At first this may seem hard and stern to you. But just
herein lies the greatest help the human spirit can get, because it compels him
to that activity which is the condition of every healthy creature in Creation.
Activity within the law alone promotes his or her surroundings and strengthens
him or her. Hence in future nothing shall be given where no return is offered,
whereby the genuine expression of deeply sensed joy and gratefulness is also an
acceptable return. Acceptable in the sense of cosmic law, for not all are
blessed with earthly riches. This alone will arouse the human soul. ‘Creation
lies spread out before you in all its grand beauty. Help yourself to what you
would possess’ rings out a mighty warning from the Light, enforcing activity
with all the insistence of the Divine Law.
The pressure of the Light, incarnate now on earth,
urges all men to move. He who is not willing to make use of this be destroyed
by it as a disturbing element among those who strive forward. Increasing
indolence disabled many; they became mental sluggards and cripples, incapable
of doing anything but envy and hate the attainments of others. A future decree
will inexorably exact perfect harmony between ‘give’ and ‘take’. It is the duty
of the “White Knight” to see that this decree is strictly obeyed. Therefore he
is called the “Royal Merchant”. This is not to be understood in a wordly sense.
It is a meant in a lofty spiritual sense and refers to the White Knight’s
official work in compelling reciprocal activity among men. It is his vocation
to operate on mankind and out away what is diseased. Would he in pity spare a
diseaded part it would contaminate uninfected parts with its poison. Therefore
he must be absolutely objective and must eliminate the opponents of this Divine
law with cold pitilessness and insensibility”.
It is Friedrich Halseband in whom the “White Knight”
is now incarnate. He was Mark, a Roman noble in the days of Jesus. Once, in
those bygone days, when the Master sat beside him in his Palace in Judea, Mark
asked Jesus: “How is it, Rabbi, that you are different from all Jews, that you
look as a King? You could be a Roman, one of the nobles, so great is your
appearance, so sublime is your bearing”. Jesus kept silence. Mark continued:
“See, I have grown old in this country, which is not my own. Therefore I know
the Jews better than my countrymen. I know their twisted ways of thinking, I
know the impulses which urge them to act. I know the good and the evils ones.
Their exterior features at first sight reveal who they are, in a way that
cannot be found in any other race. They are never content, they wish always to
have more than their fellow-men and this even at the expense of their neighbors.
They are too cowardly to fight for their lives. Therefore they remain servants.
Many a time I have meditated upon the destiny of the Jewish race and have
seriously thought that even Rome will have to go the very same way. Yes, Rome
and Judea will die. But, Master, tell me I beseech thee, where lies the key to
all these riddles of human life?”
“I will answer your question”, said the Master, “for
it is genuine. You are right, Judea is dying, but still a few of the race will
survive and spread all over the world. So long will the Jews live on this globe
until the Son of Man cometh, and the great Judgment Day which will restore life
to what it should have been. A whole earth epoch will close in which the good
will separate from the evil. Israel was the first people to receive the call
from on high. Israel will be the last that will be compelled to listen to the
voice of Imanuel. But it will remain to the end, and from its dying body will
be born new egos to keep up the race, but when their brains are twisted out of
all recognition – then the cycle will close. So Rome and other people will also
decay and deertase, except one nation of which not much is know at present.
“But before the end drawns near the power of the Light
will urge all these nations to try once more to attain to former heights. They
will unite and stand up against the people in which the Son of Man incarnates.
At that time there will be many religious and numerous teachers who all pretend
to represent the truth. But in wild hatred they will destroy each other. A
conflict will arise which the world has never seen before. Men will enjoy all
the pleasures of life until they detest them, the small ones will be great and
the great ones will be small. Then the end of all things will be brought about
by the power of Light. God’s Kingdom will dawn”.
When the Master had ended one of the greatest
predictions ever made on this abode, Mark began to tell him his life story. His
memory awoke in the presence of the Son of God. He remembered a handsome
centurion of the Emperor coming from Rome, the only Roman he had ever met who
influenced him to return to his native town to see for himself the youths
developing in the mightiest Empire of the time and to discover whether they
were all like the young centurion. He was his guest for a few days. It seemed
to the old and experienced man as if the young officer was worried and
despairing. However, he kept silence and a haughty reserve. Creolus was his
name. He was longing to find Mary, and eagerly scoured the side streets and
market places of the small town, but without finding the woman he loved.
Suddenly, when speaking thus, Mark paused, and
contemplated the Master. He said: “It seems to me when looking at you as if I
perceived that same young Roman. The resemblance is striking. It is just that
which makes you an alien among the Jews. You have the countenance of a Roman,
you bear within you the lofty leadership of a noble. But there is something
that I do not understand how to express in words, which attracts me towards you
like a magnet”.
Jesus smiled in his graciuous way, and said to Mark:
“That is the Light which I bring to the world. For I am the Truth and the Life.
Nobody cometh to the Father but through Me”.
Mark,
the Emperor’s Governor, fell humbly on his knees at the Nazarene’s feet and
wept bitterly. And
Jesus accepted him as His disciple.
